Question : I can feel a lump in my left lower abdomen or groin. Some times it seems to swell slightly and is a little painful when i press on it with my hand over the last 7 days.

From the details you have provided, you seem to be having symptoms pertaining to Inguinal hernia.
You may need to consult with a surgeon for proper examination in order to find the extent of the hernia and the different characteristics.
If it is a small hernia which is not causing you any significant disturbance in your daily life, your surgeon may choose to wait and watch. But since the pain has started to develop on pressing the swelling, he may suggest to go for a hernial repair.
