Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Baker cyst is usually due to arthritis in the knee causing fluid inside the knee C which causes cyst. Usually there us no surgical treatment for the cyst. However for the knee arthritis, steroid injection, Physiotherapy, key hole surgery and knee replacement will treat the cause of the cyst.

Sometimes the cyst can rupture and cause swelling and worsening pain on the calf, during that time you need to keep limb elevated and take pain killers.

I hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your follow up queries. Thank you.
