Question: Yesterday I had a cough and tightness in my upper chest. Last night fever 101. This morning cough is productive, greenish sputum, I had bronchitis twice this past year, both times required an antibiotic to get rid of it. Feeling that ‘all to familiar feeling in my chest” again.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of recurrent bronchitis is more likely.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

By your history and description, possibility of recurrent bronchitis is more likely.
And recurrent bronchitis needs PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to know the severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You may also need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).

Brief Answer:
First get done chest X-ray.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It's good that you don't smoke and don't have breathlessness.
In my opinion, you should definitely get done chest X-ray first.
If chest X-ray is normal then no need to worry much.
Antibiotic and other supportive treatment will work.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
