Question: I have a rash on my hairline in my neck that reappear when I have a haircut. It normally stays a few days but it’s now a week.

Hi,

According to your complaints it could be pseudo-folliculitis or dermatitis.
I would recommend you to apply a topical steroid and antibiotic cream like Neosporin ointment and cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for few days.
This should resolve it.

I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be an ecchymotic patch associated with trauma from hair cut.
I would recommend you to keep it under observation.
Also take tablet vitamin C 500 mg twice daily for few days for its faster resolution.
