Question: I have increasingly more pain under the left rib cage near the solo plexus which is brought on by prolonged sitting either in my easy chair, dinning room chair, or from sitting while driving a car.

The pain under the rib cage that you have can be related to osteoarthritic changes in the ribs or due to a muscle spasm in the area. Right now you can start taking Tablet Tylenol ( Acetaminophen) Double Strength after breakfast and after dinner. It is suggested to add calcium supplements 500mg each twice daily. This will take care of your mild symptoms in 3-5 days.
Doing a hot compress and avoiding any stressful activities will also help.
In case the pain is persistent then do consult your orthopedician for an examination and stronger prescription medicines.
