Why Do I Keep Getting Urinary Tract Infections. My Doctor

imaging of the urinary tract and culture of a urine sample
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Repeated urinary tract infections can occur if there is a change in the structure of any aspect of the urinary tract that can make a person may likely to get an infection or if the bacteria causing the infection is not being properly treated.
(1)if your urine flow is decreased due to eg enlarged prostate or there is any stricture (narrowing) of any area of the urinary tract- this can increase the chance of infection
An ultrasound, looking at the urinary tract, would be helpful to determine if there are any abnormalities of the kidneys, prostate or any other aspect of the urinary tract
If any abnormality is found, it may be able to be treated
(2)a sample of urine should be sent to the lab for analysis to identify the exact bacteria. The lab would actually determine which antibiotics would work and which would not have any effect (bacteria is resistant).
It is possible that the bacteria is resistant to the medication that has been used previously.
The imaging of the urinary tract and urine culture would determine the reason for the repeated infections.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
