Brief Answer:
Its suggests excess shedding of skin

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have seen the photos. It seems to be excess shedding of scalp skin most probably due to skin damage due to irritants. It may also be seborrhic dermatitis. It may get bad with medicated products. Its usual scenario is that it may get bad or better by itself. Some days it will be bad, some days it will be better.

My suggestions are as follows:
- Oiling the scalp will help
- Mild shampoos are better
- Avoid medicated products on scalp
- Products containing salicylic acid, coal tar may help temporarily. These may also make it worse, if skin takes it as an irritant.
- Anti-dandruff shampoos may make it worse as it may irritate the damaged scalp
- Brushing it off is the best.

Hi Doctor,

Thanks for your reply.
I am not very sure of what I need to do. The only thing I understood is oiling the scalp regularly.

I had used curd on the scalp yesterday and it was better after that.

What else can I do apart from oiling the scalp at the moment? How shall I brush it off?

Brief Answer:
Avoid medicines on scalp

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

All I meant was that avoid medicines on scalp. It may make it worse.

Natural methods like oiling, curd etc are ok to use.

you can control the scales by shampooing just twice a week. Brush your hair with a clean, soft brush before rinsing off the shampoo to loosen the scales.
