Brief Answer:
Ball of foot pain/metatarsalgia

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

There can be several possible causes for the ball of foot pain (metatarsalgia) including ill-fitting shoes, strenuous activity, arthritis, neuroma(enlarged nerves causing pain). Given your age, pain in arms and foot, arthritis is an important consideration. Physical examination and Xray of the foot are required at this point.

Please make sure that you wear comfortable shoes. Use insoles for cushioning. Avoid too strenuous activities that put excess pressure on feet. You can take Tylenol and apply ice to reduce pain.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider for necessary evaluation.

Hope this answers your question
