Chronic pelvic inflammation can cause pain and formation of adhesions inside the lower abdomen and may infect the fallopian tubes and ovaries in presence of likely chlamydial infection leading to hydrosalpinx or ovarian cysts . Chlamydia is the most common infective organnism responsible for the chronic PID.
Alo it is the most common organism infecting the urinary bladder and causing urinary tract infection which can cause increased frequency of urination, burning and painful sensation during micturition all associated with a possible chlamydia induced Cystitis.
Chronic Pid infection has to be treated with antibiotics as the infection can easily spread to adjacent organs like bladder and infect it through contiguous spread.
