Brief Answer: Follows. Detailed Answer: Dear Madam, Thank you for posting your query on HCM. Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that we can discuss the possibilities but it will be difficult to give you a diagnosis based on your complaints . First thing is to start taking a multivitamin supplement as vitamin deficiency often lead to this kind of peeling around finger nails . Next is to add biotin suppement in your diet which is very good for maintaining the strength of nail and hair . There is a possibilty that you may be having irritant dermatitis , sometimes detergent allergies may also lead to this . A nail fold capillaroscopy can be undertaken to see the vasculature but that would be relevant if you have a history of raynauds phenomenon. Fungal infection also needs to be ruled out . You can discuss these options with your treating doctor as examintion will be required to look for the cause and he remains the best judge for the situation. Take care. Dr. Shruti
