
Why Does The Skin At The Edge Of My Nails Keep Peeling?

Question: Hi Doctor, The skin at the edge of my nails keeps peeling off. It has been happening for a very long time more than 2 years. Just wanted to know if it is any cause for concern? Kindly suggest. Thanks!

I have worked through your attached images in detail.
This looks like minor allergic dermatitis.
It should possibly respond to oral antihistamine medications.
Avoid contact with detergents and allergens.
I generally prescribe oral medication of Levocetrizine and Iron salts to my patients with such symptoms.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.
