Why Doesn't Miliflox Drops Help Cure Redness, Itching, Tearing Up And Inflammation In And Around Both Eyes?
Question: I had red itching eye, teary and there is inflammation around eye, Both eyes. it has been 3-4 days. there is foreign material sensation also. itching is very severe at times and inflammation in upper/lower eye lid is clearly visible. A local doctor advised : Levocetrizine 10mg( once in morning) and Miliflox (moxifloxacin 5mg) eye drop 3 times daily. Tried for 2 days but no significant result. Please advice. I don't use contact lens, but I use bi-focal (progressive) spec. By profession, I am an IT engineer.

I am a practising ophthalmologist.
The treatment given by the local doctor should take away few of your symptoms without understanding the cause. But that is not the right way of dealing with such issues. If you have foreign material sensation ideally it requires an examination with slit lamp to know the cause. It could be dry eye because of the occupation that you are in. Blepharitis is inflammation of eye lids is also common.
I suggest you to use NEPACOOL eye drop three times a day in both the eyes. This will take care of redness. SUSTEN eye drop one drop each eye every 2 hours would help dry eyes. IF this does not help or recurrs please see local ophthalmologist for slip lamp examination.

Can I use both these 2 drops in same day? Or after I get rid of red eye by using Nefacool, I will stop it and start Systane drop?

Does "New I-KUL Plus"(INTAS) work in place of NEFACOOL? In my locality NEFACOOL is not available.

from today I started Ocumoist XXXXXXX eye drop ( XXXXXXX pharma) Polyethylene glycol 0.4 %W/V+Propylene glycol 0.3 %.
Systane was not available . Cooumoist is same compostion.
will use this 1-2 drops per eye in hourly gap
How long do I need to use these? especially Occumoist..
