Why Even A Slight Touch To The Skin Turns Red And Then Raises And Welts?

default
Posted on Fri, 23 Aug 2024
Question: The past week a severe itch came on. No change of laundry detergent, everything has stayed the same which is why I’m reaching out.

Even a slight touch to the skin turns red and then raises and welts. I also get many white little raised bumps where I itch.

Brief Answer:
It may be urticaria or skin allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and reviewed attached images.

As per your history and images, i think it may be urticaria or skin allergy.

Please let me know,
Have you taken outside food like shellfish, peanuts?
Have you taken any medications?
Do you have history of insect bite or sunlight exposure?
Do you have any other symptoms like fever

In that case, I would suggest you to consult with dermatologist for detailed clinical examination. He may advice complete hemogram, patch test as per evaluation.

Till then you can apply hydrocortisone ointment locally. You can take tablet Allegra M after physician consultation.

Along with that, avoid hard soap, shampoo, spray. Use sunscreen lotion. Maintain proper hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care,

Regards.
