Brief Answer:
Laryngopharyngeal reflux

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query.

After going through your description of the problem and examining the image thoroughly, I believe that you could be suffering from Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR).

LPR is a condition wherein the acid from the stomach regurgitates into the throat, causing inflammation. Following the inflammation, there is excess Mucus production in that area. The excess mucus secreted alleviates the underlying inflammation of the oro-pharyngeal mucosa. The thick mucus you perceive during the morning hours is because of the above.

The multiple reddish swellings noticed over the right tonsil are its folds with granulations. The area surrounding the right tonsil is mildly inflamed due to the constant regurgitation of the acid. Many individuals may not perceive the typical acid reflux symptoms because of the quick flow of the acid back into the stomach.

You need to take a course on potent proton pump inhibitors and pro-kinetics after consulting your doctor.

I hope this answers your query; revert to me if you have any follow-up queries.

Brief Answer:
Omeprazole may not be effective for all the individuals...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

Omeprazole may not be effective for all the individuals and the dosage given to you may not be sufficient. Newer generation proton pump inhibitors such as Pantoprazole or Esomeprazole could be more effective. Add to this a pro kinetic which can improve the gastric emptying.

Also, you need to avoid the acidity inducing agents such as smoking, alcohol, chilled food and beverages, citrus foods, spicy/oily food and coffee.

Hope this clarifies tour doubts. Wish you good luck.
