Why For The Past Few Months I’ve Been Experiencing Mood Swings ?

Posted on 5 days ago
Question: Hello, for the past few months I’ve been experiencing mood swings where I’ll be normal but then slowly get into a bad mood or become very sad. It often happens when I see or speak to loved ones and I don’t understand why. Also happens on my own but not as much as frequent as when I see parents and my partner and friends. I have no reason to be sad around these people so I’m a little confused as to why it keep happening.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear about this. The things that you mention sounds to me like the symptom of depression.

Many people don’t want to admit they are depressed, but there are many kinds and levels of depression varying from mild to severe.

Depression is a disorder that makes you sad, but it is different than normal sadness. Depression can make it hard for you to work, study, or do everyday tasks.

They also have at least feel sad, down, hopeless, or cranky. Depression can also make you: lose or gain weight, sleep too much or too little, feel tired or like you no energy, feel guilty or like you are worth nothing, forget things or feel confused, move and speak more slowly than usual, act restless or have trouble staying still, etc.

You might experience some or a few of those symptoms.

Even though you feel that you do not have the reason for being sad but it seems that you might have depression.

I can not find out the reason you should talk to your counselor or doctor and they will try to find out the underlying reason.

I hope that I could be of help to you today. Please let me know if you need any clarification. If you have any more questions I am available to discuss them with you further. Wishing you good health.

Best regards,

Thankyou. I’m prefer to do things naturally so are there ways you could recommend that I could help myself with out anti depressants? I’ve started to do more exercise which helps and I’ve improved my diet. If you know of any other better ways to help I would be keen to try them!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your question. You can try to take a breathing method when you are sad and sleep enough plus exercise and eat healthy food. Yes, you can try without anti-depression medicine first. If it is not better you should see a counselor. Seeing a counselor may start to feel better within a few weeks, but it might take 8 to 10 weeks to get the greatest benefit.
Wish you and your good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
