Why Has The CIMA Test Result Shown A Lower Count That The Initial Report Two Weeks Apart?

Question: Dear ,
In july, I did CMIA test and it showed .99 and the conformation showed false negative.
and in may the next year, I did also CMIA test and showed (1.1) and asked to repeat the test after two weeks with CMIA and if the result showed above 1 i have to go for western plot for conformation
and on same time, I did in another lab a real time PCR test and showed non detected
note that I didn't do any sexual activity from June till date.
and After 2 weeks from the request i did CIMA test and it showed negative (0.92)
Me query's
1- Its conclusive?
2- Why after 10 months the CIMA showed index of (1.1) and then when i repeated the test after 2 weeks the index showed (0.92)?
3- any further test required?

Brief Answer:
ELISA test is needed for confirmation of the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) test is a standard method. It tests for P24 antigen as well as antibodies to HIV. The accuracy of this test is 99.9% after three months after exposure to the virus. A result that is less than 1.0 means you do not have HIV. If the result is above 1.0 the result is positive.
In your case the result is very close to 1.0, either higher or lower and a confirmatory test is required. I suggest you to do an ELISA test for confirmation.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Can i know what is the range of the boarderline in CMIA test?
Brief Answer:
The borderline of CMIA test is 1.0 result.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The borderline of CMIA test is 1.0.
If the result is above 1.0 the result is positive.
If the number is less than 1.0 the result is negative.
If the result is very close to 1.0, either higher or lower ELISA test is needed for confirmation.
You can discuss with your doctor first about this second test, but in my opinion, based on the results it is necessary.
Hope it helps. Take care!
