Brief Answer:
A number of causes

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but this could be due to a number of reasons including vitamin b12 or b3 or iron difficiencies, mild allergic conditions against mouth wash or tooth paste or GERD.. So, I would recommend that you get a blood test for the level of vitamin b12 and b3 together with a CBC test to assess your hemoglobin level and exclude iron difficiency anemia.. Also I would recommend that you get a stool analysis for h.pylori infection which is the most common cause of GERD.. Another thing is that you should change toothpaste type and replace is with a non allergic type.. I hope you find this helpful.. If you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion..

I use baking soda w/cinnamon as toothpaste and listerine as mouth wash. What other tests would you recommend like ct,mri,an what should they look for in the test. I also have tension in neck area turning left mostly. ENT gave me medicine it didn’t work at all. Your help is appreciated. Your thoughts on my answer is greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Cinnamon is irritating in nature

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Please stop using the cinnamon as it has an irritating nature and could be the cause of your tongue swelling.. After stopping give it while (about two weeks) until the swelling start to resolve. If no improvement occur then please consider an upper GIT endoscopy to exclude GERD. The neck tension could be due to myositis, so please apply voltaren gel every eight hours together with an anti-inflammatory as declofenac once daily.

I hope you find this helpful. If you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.
