Why Have I Had Sudden Problems With Upset Stomach Every Day Whenever It Is Empty?
Question: I have suddenly had problems with upset stomach every day. It occurs when my stomach gets empty. Anything I can do or take?

Stomach problem , called dyspepsia is very common. Causes are a lot however most causes are not serious though some times may be serious if long standing.
If it is short time , we generally don't investigate it especially if there is no alarm symptoms that is sudden difficulty in swallowing , or persistent vomiting , or black stool .If none of this is present which is obviously not in your case , so we don't investigate , and treat it with some acid suppression drugs. This include over the counter anta-acids and drugs like omeprazole .We recommend it for 14 days. Avoid pain killers, bitter and spicy foods, reduce smoking and alcohol that all can cause irritation.
If the pain persists after 14 days then you probably need to see your doctor for H pylori testing and treatment as that is also one causes of peptic ulcer not improving .
If your pain has been already for long time , like more then few weeks then I would advise you should see your doctor for H pylori testing ( germ causing peptic ulcer disease )and treatment or possible OGD.
However I hope if your problems is not a long standing , it should resolve.
