Why Is Calcium Acetate Prescribed For?
Question: my supplemental health insurance declined my prescription of calcium acetate, how important can it be to a dialysis patient?
Brief Answer:
Extremely important
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It is extremely important that the patient receives calcium as dialysis patients are prone for hypocalcemia. If they have declined calcium acetate then I recommend you request your doctor for Vit d supplements instead, this will help improve the calcium levels.
I hope I was of help, did you get back from the trip you were going? Was it a safe unremarkable journey?
Regards
