Why Is I-DEW DS Drops Put In Eyes?

Question: sir I am having eye sight defect as per the attached report. I again tested my eyes in last November and advised to continue with the same glass. Before 3 days I suddenly felt pain in my left eye and the saw that an ant is biting inside it. I put the ant out but the pain continued for some time. I consulted an eye specialist and she said that everything is ok and prescribed an eye drop(I-DEW DS) and advised to put 1 drop in each eye 4 times a day. Today while I was putting the drop in my right eye, by mistake I put 3/4 drops at a time. After that I felt some irritation in that eye and I sprinkled some water inside that eye. After some time the pain get healed. Sir will this affect my eye sight ??? For which purpose this drop is ??? Will it's over dose which I have put worsen my eye power ??? Please help me.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I went through the report, it shows refractive error in the form of myopic astigmatism and treatment for it is by use of correction of this refractive error.

I-DEW DS eye drops is a artificial tear eye drops and it is used for treatment of dry eye and irritation of the eyes. Instillation of more than prescribed eye drops will not cause any problem no need to worry. Artificial tears eye drops like I-DEW DS eye drops are very safe and will not cause any problem and it will not have any effect on eye sight.
