Thanks XXXXXXX A follow-up question -
But shouldn't ovulation/follicle rupture have happened by now. Then y this injection now to have good follicle size? Also, doc asked to maintain relations on 8/9 may. And haven't done post that :( So is there still an uncertainty that 19mm follicle hasn't ruptured. Doc asked me to get blood test done on 20 may to confirm pregnancy. I know I should be patient but too many thoughts running over. Please advise. Appreciate your help!!

Brief Answer:
Luprid given to prevent early ovulation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the long delay in my response!
Luprid injection usually given 5-6 days before the expected LH surge, so the ovulation.
As your follicle size is only 19 mm, they want to increase the size of follicle.
They control the ovulation till the folfollicle reach the appropriate size(22-24mm) before rupture, to facilitate fertilization.
They prevent hyperovulation also.
They want good follicle rupture before insemination of sperm.
I can understand your anxiety and concern.
If you want further information kindly ask further.
Good luck.
Regards
