Brief Answer:
It may be for diabetic nephropathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

Your leg cramp may be due to diabetic neuropathy.
Tryptomer (contain amitryptilin) is one of the common drug used for treatment of diabetic neuropathy.

In such situation there may be need for detailed neurological examination and I may suggest following investigations -
- HbA1c.
- Lipid Profile.
- Vitamin D level.
- Vitamin B12 level.
- T3, T4, TSH.

Depending upon clinical evaluation and above investigation reports appropriate treatment can be planned.

In general for diabetic neuropathy I recommend -
- Good blood sugar control.
- Blood pressure control.
- Lipid control.
- Vitamin B12 & D supplement.
- Avoid smoking.
- Drugs like Pregabalin, amitryptilin, alpha lipoic acid may be used.

Hope this helps you.
