Question: why why is it when I take insulin for my type 2 diabetes my blood sugars seem to be higher then if I don’t take it? This is frustrating because I will take meds for a month without my blood sugars coming down and spot for a couple days and my levels drop lower but then never get close to a normal level

Brief Answer:
about diabetes treatment;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I hsve gone carefully through your concern.
The main causes yhat can increase the blood sugar are: the presence of any infection or other stress in our body, or too much calorie intake.
If you are obese or overweight with abdominal fat, there is insulin resistance and you would profit more by other antidiabetic treatment ratjer than insulin ( if you do not have contraindications). The dose of metformine is low.
Of course reducing calorie intake would help too.
So, you should disscus with your treating physician about modifying the treatment or evaluate once agian the infection if it still persists.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
