Why Is My Heart Rate High After An Incident That Triggered An Anxiety Attack?
Dec 2017 echo stress test all normal my normal testing heart rate is high usually in the 80-mid 90 my recent echo stated normal so I am wondering if this is due to my anxiety and how to lower it
I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would explain that these heart rate fluctuations are quite a normal physiological reaction to anxiety.
They are not indicative of any serious heart disorder.
You should know that during anxiety or physical activity, the sympathetic nervous system is activated, leading to increased circulating levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline, causing increased heart rate and/or blood pressure values.
This is a normal reaction in every healthy individual. You should also know that during this reaction ectopic heart beats may occur too, and they are considered normal during these situations.
Coming to this point, there is no reason to panic!
I would not recommend performing any additional cardiac tests, because I am sure that they will result in normal.
I would just recommend trying to manage your anxiety.
In this regard, a lot of physical activity (recreational sports, Yoga, aerobics, walking, etc.) can help.
I would also recommend avoiding caffeine intake (coffee, energy drinks, etc.).
Another option would be valeriana and passiflora herbal supplements, which can help manage your anxiety, without causing sedation.

Your symptoms are not related to the heart.

As a cardiologist, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms do not seem to be related to any cardiac disorders.
Anxiety seems to be the main cause of this clinical scenario.
So, just relax and don't worry about it!
I would recommend trying to close your eyes and take some deep breaths.

Hi,
It is quite normal to have some palpitations, an increased heart rate and even ectopic heartbeats during anxiety.
It is a common reaction in every normal individual.
So, try not to think about it!
The more you pay attention to them, the more you will feel them.
