Why Is The Medication Nidagen Prescribed During Pregnancy??.
Question: is it necessary to take Nidagen 200mg medicine during pregnancy??. im one month and 20 days pregnant. i have no any bleeding and other pregnancy problems. i had scanned yesterday.Since the medicine have more side effect is it good for me??

If this is a natural conception and not out of infertility treatment and you are already 6 weeks pregnant as confirmed by scan , then at this time if there has been no spotting or threatened abortion , then you can actually avoid taking the progesterone as the body naturally produces enough progesterone to support the pregnancy. However if you experience any spotting then you should start and continue till 14 weeks.
It is however free of side effects during pregnancy and acts to support pregnancy with better implantation so should be used preventively in cases with recurrent abortions.

According to the evidence, there is no actual requirement to take the pills unless there has been a diagnosed luteal phase defect or progesterone deficiency in th mother. You may chose to omit but please keep the treating physician in picture.
