For cough and throat irritation i would suggest you to start an antibiotic.
Tab. Ciplox 500 mg twice daily for 5 days
Tab. Sinarest twice daily for 2 days
Steam inhalation with a drop of eucalyptus oil for 20 mins twice daily.
Warm salt water gargling
