Why My BP Fluctuating Between 125 And 140 For The Past 10 Months?

Question: Hello Doctor,

My name is Vikas, and I am 39 years old. I usually go to bed around 11 p.m., but over the past 15-20 days, I've noticed an increase in nighttime urination. I wake up 1-2 times during the night, once around midnight (between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.) and sometimes again in the early morning. If it's not twice, I still feel the urge to urinate at least once in the early morning. This wasn't happening before. Additionally, my blood pressure has been on the higher side, fluctuating between 125 and 140 for the past 10 months, although I am not currently on any medication.
My fasting sugar is 99.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to drinking excess water after dinner

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome here,

Common reasons for frequent urination or urination at night include:
- drinking water after dinner
- diabetes mellitus
- diabetes insipidus
- urinary tract infection
- prostate or bladder issues

I will suggest that you may get a basic urine examination done. We may need to do other tests accordingly to find the cause. Treatment is done according to the cause.

Regards,
Dr Vaishalee
