Why My Husbands Hands And Feet Are Extremely Cold All The Time?
Question: My husbands hands and feet are extremely cold all the time. They were not like this when he was younger. How do we get the blood flow going into these extremities? He has a bad knee so jogging, walking fast or anything like that is out. He also is showing dementia now, so I was wondering if he is having a lack of blood to the brain like he is with his feet and hands.

Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, your husband has been suffering from cold extremities, knee sore and dementia.
Some remedies can be taken to warm extremities up, such as wear a hat, insulator soaks, gloves and a warm coat etc, exercise daily including walking, do repeated movements of extremities like circle the fingers, hands, arms, toes, feet etc in the air, use electric heating pads on the extremities, hold something warm in the hands and keep the feet in the bowel with warm water, message the hands and feet, use hand and feet warmer etc.
Poor circulation of blood to the extremities and nerve damage due to any causes in the extremities are the two causes of cold extremities. Again, dementia may result from degenerative neurological diseases like Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia due to reduced blood flow to the brain, traumatic brain injury, infections of central nervous system etc.
So, lack of proper circulation of blood to the extremities can cause cold hands as well as feet and similarly poor circulation of blood to the brain can also develop dementia.
