Detailed Answer:
Hello Dolores,

Thank you for posting your query. I have read it, and understand your health concern.

You are 40 years old, and have had a C-section 2 years back for your twin pregnancy.

I would like to know more details about your health concern. What kind of a implant was inserted after the C-section? Please let me know the details of the same. Also, have you got an ultrasound scan of the pelvis region done recently? If yes, please upload the scan report.

One reason for your periods being just like spotting could be due to low female hormone levels. It could also be that you may be nearing menopause. It is too early to comment now.

You could try hormonal pills to regulate your menstrual cycle. Progesterone only pills are very effective in that case.

I suggest you get an ultrasound scan of the pelvis done, if not done already.

If you could give me more details about the implant and the ultrasound (if done), it would be helpful for me to suggest you better.

Awaiting your response.

Regards,
Dr Shanthi E

Brief Answer:
I would consider it normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dolores,

Thanks for providing the details. It helped.

Your periods are regular, just that they are very light like spotting. I would consider this normal. I do not think there is anything for you to worry.

Yes, you would definitely be ovulating still. You may continue to use the implanon until the time you want to have more children, and yes, definitely, you can have more children.

I would suggest you to get an ultrasound scan of the pelvis region on an elective basis just to rule out any underlying pathology.

I hope this resolves your health concern. Do let me know if you have more doubts or need clarification.

Wish you good health.

Regards,
Dr Shanthi E
