Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS and increased frequency of menstrual periods.

Besides oral contraceptive pills, some other effective medications for PCOS are also available. Medications like clomiphene, metformin, letrozole, gonadotropins etc can be used for ovulation. Some other medications like spironolactone, eflornithine etc are used to reduce excessive facial hair growth.

Again, the progestin only XXXXXXX pill can be taken for 10-14 days every one to two months to restore and regulate normal menstrual periods.

Life style modifications like weight reduction, avoid carbohydrate foods and sugar containing foods, daily exercising etc may help to reduce the effects of PCOS.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
