Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Such irregular bleeding usually occurs due to hormonal imbalance,. Hormonal imbalance in after the age of 40 or 45 can be due to menopause. It is a natural process where a woman goes into a phase of life where she might no more have periods. The usual age is above 45 but some attain early.

Menopause occurs when you’ve stopped producing the hormones that cause your menstrual period and have gone without a period for 12 months in a row. Once this has occurred, you enter postmenopause.

There are other causes fo such bleeding like fibroids or ovarian cysts this has to be ruled out by a detailed examination by a gynecologist with an ultrasound scan of the uterus.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

regards,
