Why Would I Feel A Sudden Catch Of Breath Without My BP Getting Affected?

Question: Hi this is for Dr Sharka I have a question although this has happened before I started feeling like this mayver an hour or so ago like air stuck in my chest or I cannot catch a yawn there is no pain no shortness of breath blood pressure is 120/70 no other issues could this be cardiac or perhaps my anxiety

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to any cardiac disorders.

Anxiety may mimic this clinical scenario.

As a cardiologist I would exclude any possible cardiac disorders, especially considering the fact that you have had this feeling before and all your performed tests have resulted normal.

So, there is no need to worry about!

I would just recommend you to close your eyes and take some deep breaths (meditation) or go out for a walk in the nature. I am sure that it will help a lot.

Hello thank you I do have one more question as today I have woken up with a pain that is located left side around the rib heart area this pain is sharp it comes and goes as well as the upper sturnum that comes and goes again no shortness of breath no other symptoms other than that
Could this be cardiac or maybe gas or costochondrtis as long as it is t cardiac and I don’t need further testing

For this reason, I would recommend taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen for the pain.
