Why Would I Have Itchiness On My Breasts, Stomach And Back For Months Together?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Oct 2023
Question: For about 5 months I have had itchiness on my breast, stomach, back. I went to urgent care a few months ago and they gave me a cream for scabies. I then went to my primary care doctor and she said no it wasnt scabies but very dry skin. Now in the last month or so i have been having itchiness between my fingers and I have a few tiny blisters on my hands. have been suffering with bad anxiety for years now and wonder if this all could be from stress. I would like your opinion what you think. Also a few years ago I was itchy when I was very anxious.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

While being anxious can make a person's itching feel overall worse, it does not typically cause a rash. Can you send some photos, close up as well as a little bit away from the rash? You can use the "Upload Reports" tab to do this.

There are many things that can cause a rash and cutaneous vasculitis can sometimes be mistaken as scabies. Scabies, if you have it for this long, will produce obvious "tracks" from the mite moving from one location to another. Blisters can be related to viral infections in the herpes family (there are many types of herpetic viruses - they aren't all STD related).

Given how long this has been going on, I think it time to see a dermatologist. But if you can upload some digital photos, I may be able to provide general information.
