Brief Answer:
Injection helps egg release. Some more information please.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

First of all do not panic.
Please have full trust in your treating doctor.
You are on right track of treatment.

As your follicle has grown to 18 mm, your doctor has rightly suggested you to take injection HCG. It helps to rupture of the follicle and release of the egg within 24 to 36 hours after the injection.

I would like to know about some more things in detail.
1. Are you getting regular menstrual cycles?
2. Have you done any tests regarding your fertility treatment?
3. Are you on any preconception vitamins supplements?
Please let me know about this to help you out in a better way.

Please feel free to communicate with me again.
Thanks
