Why Would One Have Menstrual Bleeding Continuously For Three Months Along With Headaches, Weight Gain, Tiredness And Inconsistent Bowel Movement?
Im female 35 no conditions or medication and have had 5 natural child births
Please do a thyroid check and also gynecological examinations to find the cause and also rule out anemia as a consequence of bleeding.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I carefully read your question.
Bleeding for so long there are 2 major things to consider:
1. which is the cause of it
2. are you developing anemia or not
Because you have problems with the periods, headaches, weight changes, changes in bowel movements it is important to rule out problems with the thyroid as thyroid can cause all of these so please do a TSH test to rule out problems with the thyroid.
There are several possible gynecological reasons for so long bleeding in a woman and examinations are needed to find the exact cause:
1. having a gynecological visit will identify reasons that relate to vagina or uterine cervix
2. you will also need to have a paps smear if you have not had one in the last year- this will check for tumors of the uterine cervix. This is a test that is routinely recommended in women even when they do not have complaints to rule our cervical cancer.
3. cervical secretions to check for clamydia and gonorrhea to rule out these infections as a possible cause of the bleeding
4. vaginal ultrasound will visualize well the uterus and ovaries and see for any related problems that might effect you and cause the bleeding
As for the anemia you will need to have a CBC done to rule anemia out and see the need for iron supplement. Bleeding for so long might cause loss of iron from your body and result to anemia. Anemia can cause headaches and tiredness so it is important to rule it out.
I hope this is helpful and answers to your question but please feel free to reply if anymore clarification is needed on this.
