Question : I have copd from two cases of pneumonia and I have mucus in my lungs. Will Asmanex dry out my lungs? I have in the past used Q-Var and used it for two weeks and it solved the problem.

Hello,

Asmanex is a corticosteroid inhaler that reduces inflammation and reduces mucus secretions and wheezing. Qvar is also a corticosteroid inhaler like Asmanex. So you will be fine taking Asmanex. Please continue it as prescribed.

You may also take Mucinex 200 mg thrice daily for thinning the already collected mucus.
