Will Depo Provera Reduce LH Hormone And Histamine In Males?
Question: Will depo Provera reduce LH hormone and histamine in males?
Brief Answer:
About depo Provera relation to LH and histamine:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Depo provera contains medroxyprogresterone actetate that in most of the studies has resulted in decreasing LH level. Of course, it is not the appropriate treatment to lower LH but studies show that it has this effect.
Regarding to Histamine, treatment with oral medroxyprogesterone resulted in
remission of urticaria and a decrease in eosinophil counts in some patients but there are rare sporadic cases, nothing is approved.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Thanks. So, as a male, I can use depo Provera to shut down or reduce my libido, testosterone and semen production?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it can be used:
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
MPA is a synthetic progestin used for numerous purposes in women. When administered in males, it lowers testosterone levels, lowering sexual drive without causing feminization. It is usually safe and well tolerated.
It should of course prescribed by your physician after other alternatives are discussed.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta

Thanks. Also, do you recommend Degarelix 240mg (GnRH antagonist) as the best testosterone blocker quickly as compared to GnRH agonists? Thanks
Brief Answer:
About therapy to decrease testosterone:
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Yes, GnRH antagonist decrease more rapidly testosterone than GnRH agonist but, differently from depo Provera, the side effects of GnRH antagonists or agonists (symptoms of low testosterone) are more attenuate than the treatment with Medroxyprogresterone.
Anyway, to start the treatment to decrease testosterone level you should be under control of endocrinologist , who will suggest the best treatment appropriate for you and will also monitor it.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta

Thanks. I went to endocrinologist and she was not helpful at all. No one understands me. What to do? I have tried all doctors now. I don't think all doctors or endocrinologists understand and good enough to analyse different people like me. You agree? Thanks
