The medicines will not have reverse effects on brain
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. ADHD is an attention deficit disorder and in ADHD impulsivity is one of common feature. This impulsivity usually occurs due to poor control of mood. So in some cases of ADHD mood stabilisers are found to be useful.
In bipolar disorder Mood Stabilisers are most commonly used. These mood stabilisers like Sodium Valproate, Lithium Carbonate, Lamotrigine etc help to stabilise the mood.
Even if ADHD patient is treated with bipolar disorder medicine the medicines will not have reverse effects on brain.
If you have doubts that you are suffering from ADHD then consult a psychiatrist and take proper treatment. Stimulants like Adderall, Concerta etc amphetamines, Attenterol etc are commonly used medicines in ADHD and have excellent efficacy.
The current medicine you are taking is Escitalopram and this is a SSRI drug. This is a good anti anxiety and anti depressant drug. The drug is not an ADHD drug.
Thanks, I hope this helps you. Please dont hesitate to ask again for more doubts.
Take care
