Hi doctor thank you for answering. My mom is 65. No diabetes only hypertension. It was there for a week and draining for two days. She has hypertension and takes diazepam. She have been using bacitracin.
Brief Answer:
As detailed
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
No diabetes means not much to worry about.
Most of boils heal on their own by body's mechanism and rupture of boil/abscess is a good indication for early healing.
If your Mom is not on any blood thinners then medicine like Ibuprofen if it suits her helps to reduce inflammation, pain and aids in early healing.
Once rupture occurs, the pus is let down helping healing . A few days course of any antibiotic that suits her, say like Amoxy-clav helps further.
Better to apply sterile gauze soaked in Liquid Betadine that is Povidone Iodine helps better than any ointment.
Please follow these instruction and healing will be faster, better.
Please give feedback and add on fresh photos.
Feel free to give feedback and ask for any further queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
