Will Sinarest Syrup And Paracetamol Reduce Ear Pain And Cold For 3 Years Child

Question: my son' is 3 years old he has cold from 3 days .He has developed ear pain.I have given him sinarest syrup and paracetamol.It will reduce and after 1 hour he again complains of ear pain.Can you pls suggest a ear drops.He had ear pain before this as well(a couple of times when he had cold)

You can give drops with otic agents and nasal decongestant

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concern. You are right that in children, most of the time the ear ache is secondary to cold.
Here giving ear drop containing otic agents which decreases the pain,itching like Otogesic drop along with nasal decongestant drop like xylometazoline( otrivin pediatric)helps in relieving the symptoms.
You can continue giving paracetamol and sinarest. Put ear drop like otogesic 2 drops 6 hourly and nasal drop like otrivin pediatric 2 drop in each nostril 8 hourly for 3-4 days. Giving steam inhalation also helps a lot.
