Will The Small Thyroid Cyst Go Away On Its Own Or What Can I Do To Get Rid Of It?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Sep 2024
Question: Please find attached scan report and bloods.
I found a lump in my neck and although the results don't show anything worrying I still am.
The lump is painful at times but other times it isn't. I feel generally unwell.
I am worried because there is a history of cancer in my family of rectal, ovarian and throat.
Do I need to be worried regarding my results?
Will the small thyroid cyst go away on its own or what can I do to get rid of it?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the reports. As per your description, it looks like a harmless enlargement of your lymph node. It may be due to minor infection and nothing to worry about it.
Ultrasound does not suggest any suspicious or significant disease condition.
Nothing to worry and it will probably resolve by it own in few days.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Thyroid cyst is harmless

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is totally benign(non cancerous) cyst in the thyroid gland and it is of now clinical significance. It is a scan finding and may persist, as of now no active treatment is required and you can followup with a repeat scan may be after one year.
The lymph node in the neck also be non significant and nothing to worry about it

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely significant

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
As per the scan findings it is unlikely significant, if the size is increasing you can plan for a fine needle biopsy to make a diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
