Will There Be Bleeding Due To Tear After Hymenoplasty?
Question: I've had hymenoplasty and it has been 6 weeks. I had a check up and have been told that it is partially broken with some comnective tissue due to the stitches breaking before it healed. I'm really worried that this will mean that I will not bleed on my wedding night. The surgeon said that I should still bleed as only one of the tears broke and as the penis is bigger than a finger it should be ok. What are your views?
Brief Answer:
Minor tears do not affect the result.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
After a hymenoplasty only a finger size hole is left intact. If there is just a small tear then it does not matter. It is likely to break open while the penis is inserted to cause a bleeding. Since after the repair the elasticity of the tissue decreases the chances of having a bleeding are even more. Please do not worry.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

The surgeon mentioned that I had two tears initially on my hymen. my hymen itself was relatively intact. he repaired both of the tears but 1 of the tears stitches broke and has now been classified as a partially broken hymen. is that considered a minor tear?
Brief Answer:
Yes it is a minor tear.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Just one partially broken tear is a minor tear and it should not matter. Since the thickness of an erect penis is more than two fingers there is nothing to worry. It will tear and bleed on the first night.
Hope my answer is helpful.

sorry for getting back to you late. you mentioned that elasticity after the surgery is reduced now. does this mean that even after healing it is possible that the remaining connected hymen can break from everyday activities such as sitting, crossing legs (leg on leg or folded whilst sitting on floor or sofa) lifting heavy objects? i believe the stitches have disolved and am talking about after it has been healed. i find it slightly uncomfortable when I sit down and can feeling a tugging and slight burning sensation and have to reposition myself consistently.
Brief Answer:
Daily activities will not hurt it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
The fibrosis in the area can cause the stretching and uncomfortable sensation that you have. But it is not likely to cause a burning. You need to rule out a urinary infection after a urine examination.
The daily activities like sitting on the floor or on sofa are not likely to harm it. Avoid horse riding, cycling and lifting heavy objects.
Do not feel self conscious and be comfortable.
