Woke Up Just Now With A Barely Noticeable Slight Hoarseness In My Voice

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Oct 2024
Question: Male 77. Type II diabetes, hypertension (both under control). Woke up just now with a barely noticeable slight hoarseness in my voice. Wasn't there yesterday. I guess I'm a little nervous about it. NO other symptoms. Don't smoke and don't drink. Coffee in the morning and iced tea throughout the day. And maybe I need to calm down but the first thing to cross my mind is – am I starting to develop something serious?

Brief Answer:
It doesn't seem something to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The slightly hoarseness of your voice you are just having isn't something to worry about. It can be related to any viral infection, common cold , overusing your voice or a bacterial infection.
I think it will go away on its own without the need for treatment. You may need to limit using your voice and not use cold or hot beverage but just warm beverages and food.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
