Question: Hello Doctor,
My age is 32 and I have a 3.5 year old son from C-Section in 1st pregnancy. I am into my 12th week of 2nd pregnancy. The 10th week scan reported 'missed miscarriage' for one of Dichorionic Diamniotic (DCDA) twin (Vanishing Twin syndrome). The growth of one baby has stopped at 7th week while other baby is developing normally. Please clarify if there will any affect on the normal baby or myself.
Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is common in DADC twin pregnancy and is seen in 20-40% of cases with minimal problems further.
Since in your case the growth of missed twin stopped at 7 weeks there is nothing to worry except for a regular visit to your gynecologist and timely ultrasound examination to ensure health of surviving twin.
All the best.
Regards
Dr Manisha
