Would Foreign Stuck In Trachea Cause A Spontaneous Reaction Of Coughing?

Question: Dear Doctor.
I have a query related to the cough mechanizm (in trachea)
When foreign particle get into the trachea and stuck in the mucous layer, there must be a cough reflex for removing the foreign particles.
That means... foreign particle such as little hair touch the cough receptors which is on the trachea, so it trigger the cough? or cillia move more faster for removing the particle and that give the sense to nerve for making cough?
is it possible not to know if particle stuck in trachea mucous layer? (no touch on cough receptors... etc)
Pls. explain me how body catch the foreign body stuck in trachea mucus lining....

Brief Answer:
No this is not possible.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No it is not possible that your trachea does not sense foreign particle unless and until you are having paralysis or some nerve related problem.
These kind of problems can cause absent or weak cough reflex and hence aspiration of foreign body can go unnoticed.
But if you are not having these problems then chances of aspiration of of foreign body without coughing is very very less.
And similarly if particle is stuck in trachea, you will definitely have cough if you are not having any of these diseases.
Any foreign material when aspirated, mucus secreting glands start secreting mucus around that particle. It will also induce cough reflex. With cough reflex and help of cilliary movement, this mucus engulfed particle cough out of trachea.
So please let me know
1. Do you have any nerve related problem?
2. Do you have aspiration?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Thank you for your answer.
Actually there is no any nerve related problem and it is only query what I want to know.
Doctor said to me that
"And similarly if particle is stuck in trachea, you will definitely have cough if you are not having any of these diseases."
--> Pls. explain me what XXXXXXX cough reflex if particle stuck in trachea...
for example, particle would touch cough sensor... so it makes cough
or particle made cillia movement blocking... that movment give sense to nerve for making cough....
Pls. explain me
Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
Yes, particle itself induce cough reflex.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can I can understand your.
Yes, particle, itself induce cough reflex.
Any particle except plain air on entering trachea will touch the tracheal wall because tracheal diameter is small. On touching tracheal wall, there are receptors which transmit signals to cough center in the brain.
This transmission is done by nerves.
Particle also produce mucus secretion by stimulating mucus secreting glands in trachea. So particle is engulfed in mucus, so during cough out it will not damage trachea.
Cough reflex and cilliary movements togather cough out mucus engulfed foreign particle.
Hope I have solved your query. If you are not having further queries, then please close the conversation and rate my answer.
