Would High Dosage Of Thiamin Be Helpful In Managing Symptoms Of Parkinson’s Disease When All Other Medicines Are Not Working?
Question: I currently have parkinson's disease for the last thirteen years. im taking current medications carbidopia/levo one & half tablets four times a day, Amantamine 100mg three times a day, Entacapone 200 mg four times a day and Trihex 1/2 tablet in the am and 1/2 tablet at lunch. My meds are not working as they once did. I found some promising studies on high dose Thiamin. Im trying to find a DR. that can do a injection of the Thiamin. I live in Canton, GA
Brief Answer:
I recommend first to go for oral supplementation of B1.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There are promising results with the B1 use in different neurologic conditions.
I would suggest to go for oral form of thiamine tablet as Thiamilate or else for desired period of time say 1 month or so, see its results before commencing for injections.
Hope this information will help you. Wish you best health.
