Brief Answer:
I need some clarification...

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic.

Could you let me know what exact medication you were put on and for how long?

What exactly are you worried about when it comes to the use of these steroids?

Collagen is a protein created in the body. Proteins get degraded over time and are continuously produced. I will have to look into how steroids affect collagen production directly and get back to you.

For now though, just try and give me the details of the treatment given.

Thanks Dr XXXXXXX for your reply.

It was 2.5mg daily oxandrolone for three months. This was to achieve boost in height.

But I have this nagging feeling that it led to proteins being formed , and these proteins are still present today.

If all proteins wherever they are in body are continuously degraded this would make me happy - because then even though the steroids led to protein formations , these would have been degraded and recycled by now. Is this accurate statement?

Looking forwar to your valued advice.

Brief Answer:
All organic molecules degrade, collagen is no exception

Detailed Answer:
Your statement is accurate.

Don't worry about it. These treatments can't lead to a permanent change in the rate of growth of any protein or tissue. While the treatment is ongoing there may be some accelerated growth... but the effects of the Oxandralone end within a few weeks to a few months depending on the tissue.
