Hi,

ECG is showing sinus tachycardia, which is usually secondary to other factors like exercising, anxiety, fever etc. Rest, rhythm and axis are normal. No significant St t abnormalities seen.

So, other than fast heart rate, which is sinus meaning to secondary to other factors, there are no significant abnormalities in ECG.

Thanks for your answer that's a relief to hear , would you suggest any follow up based on the ecg like wearing an heart monitor for 24 hours like my doctor suggested just to rule out any other causes ?

Thanks for your reply, if the sinus tachcardia is just being caused by pregnancy, should it go away then after delivery of the baby?

Hi,

Since ECG is just having sinus tachycardia and no other abnormalities, I don't suggest it on the basis of ECG alone. However, if your symptoms are not explained and something else is suspected on the basis of symptoms then you may need it. Because ECG will detect the problem at that moment only and may not detect some intermittently occurring events. So may have Holter if treating doctor feels it necessary.

Yes, it should settle within few weeks of delivery after physiological changes of pregnancy are settled down.
You must have been tested for hemoglobin and thyroid, and I guess it's normal, as these are common factors which adds to sinus tachycardia in pregnancy.

Also how long is an average esposide of tachycardia , mine last most of a day almost 24 hours is that normal enough , pulse is around 130 at the min no other symptoms .

Hi,

Sinus tachycardia may for last for anytime as its likely due to pregnancy in you. However, it's unusual for heart rate to stay this high for a whole day. I mean, it's common to have heart rate in the range of 90-100 and intermittently rising with exertion, anxiety etc.

So, in this case, you should get yourself completely evaluated by cardiologist for all treatable causes if not yet done (which I guess is done). And also it's better to get started on beta blockers as chronically elevated heart rate may be detrimental in long term. Keep yourself well hydrated.
