Brief Answer:
It takes one month of iron supplements to increase hemoglobin by 1 g

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome here,

It usually takes more than one month of regular iron supplements for hemoglobin to increase by 1 g.
In my opinion you may continue these supplements for atleast 3 months. You may add an ayurvedic iron like Lauh to your regime. It can be taken in the dose of one tablet daily, chewed slowly and taken with honey or ghee for one to two weeks every month. This will also help give 1-2 week break for the ferroglobin and dexorange in case of side effects.

After taking these supplements for 3 months, repeat the tests complete blood count and iron studies. If it does not increase by 2-3 grams then we can consider injection or blood transfusion.

I had a blood test today, and my hemoglobin level came back at 6.7. Despite my efforts, it seems there hasn't been much improvement. I've been incorporating ABC juice, dates, spinach, green leafy vegetables, and pomegranate into my diet regularly, but the hemoglobin level remains the same. I haven't been taking any medication, just focusing on diet changes.
When I spoke with my doctor, they recommended a series of tests to check the cause of the loss of blood. While I feel comparatively better than before, I'm still concerned about my hemoglobin level being so low. Could this be dangerous? What steps should I take next?

And also I did one of the Peripheral Smear test and it says microcytic hypochromic anemia with mild leucocytosis. Could this be reason for blood loss. Is it necessary for me to perform different test to identify the root cause or would this be sufficient?

Brief Answer:
Yes, finding the cause will help

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

You have only taken diet but not taken iron supplements, so next step should be to take iron supplements, as mentioned above. If iron supplements also do not increase the hemoglobin, then we can look for a cause by doing further tests. To reduce the cost of testing, you can do one test at a time. The danger of low hemoglobin is that it may cause heart to enlarge, palpitations to keep up with the demand of the body.
Leucocytosis means some infection and it could cause weakness.
There could be many causes for low iron in the body including diet, heavy menstrual bleeding, or intestinal issues like diarrhea etc.
Thalassemia and any auto immune condition also needs to be checked.
But first step is to take iron supplements.
