Brief Answer:
The yellow color of the stools can be normal- further explanations below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

The yellow color of stools is within the normal variation. You seem to be using metronidazole which is generally good to fight some parasite infections and also antibiotic-related diarrhea. Imodium, on the other hand, helps reduce the number of bowel movements in a day.

If it is less than 5 days that you have started the treatment it is recommended to just give it enough time. Antibiotics take at least 2-3 days to start an effect and if the treatment is oriented towards giardia, it may take even a bit longer to see an improvement.

To conclude:
- please continue the treatment if you have been taking it for less than 5 days
- meanwhile, if you have diarrhea or vomiting, make sure you take plenty of water and electrolytes to substitute the loses. Oral rehydration solutions, which can be accessed over the counter in a pharmacy, are a good way to take the right amount of fluids and electrolytes.
- if you are peeing less then often or if you feel more tired, this may be a sign of dehydration so please make sure you do take a lot of oral rehydration solutions.
- make sure you avoid milk during this time and for the next 2 weeks. You can use cheese and yogurt though.
- if there is blood with diarrhea or black stools or you notice any worsening or no improvement after 5 days of starting the treatment, you will need to see your doctor.

I hope this is helpful and answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case more medical assistance is needed.

I wish you a quick improvement.
